This course is aimed at anyone who selects, mounts or uses abrasive wheels, covering different types of abrasive wheel, pre-use inspection to wheels and tools, fire control, and correct cutting and grinding techniques.

Course content:

Relevant health and safety legislation (inc. PUWER 1998)
Hazard and risk control when working, including common accidents
Types of abrasive wheel and their safe use
Safe set up and operation of abrasive wheels and accessories
Correct PPE and its importance when operating equipment

Our Abrasive Wheels course can be delivered at our dedicated centre or on client site premises to suit. Every effort is made to tailor our training specifically to meet client need and, to this end, all our courses can incorporate a bespoke element if required.

FACT offer both in-house and NPORS accredited training options for this course.  Our NPORS training is tailored to meet your experience level, and combines practical elements with theory.  Whether you are looking for novice courses or experienced worker tests, our experienced and friendly assessors can help.

The NPORS Operator Card is a record of training and assessment an individual has undertaken to prove their ability to safely operate an item of plant machinery or equipment. Registration with NPORS lasts 3 or 5 years from the date of first initial test.
