SUMMARY:First Aid at Work
DESCRIPTION:The First Aid at Work 3-day course (split over 3 weeks) is suitable for people aged 16+ who might need to provide first aid by responding to a wide range accidents\, injuries and illnesses that they could encounter in their workplace \nIt is ideal for organisations whose needs assessment has identified a requirement for additional first aid training\, such as having employees with a disability or a medical condition. \nLearners will develop the first aid skills and confidence to help someone who: \n\nis unresponsive and breathing\nis unresponsive and not breathing\, including how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)\nis choking\nis bleeding\nis suffering from shock\nhas burns\nfeels faint\nhas been poisoned\nhas a head injury\nhas hypothermia or heat exhaustion\nhas an injury to a bone\, muscle or joint (including spinal injuries).\n\nLearners will also be able to help a casualty who is having a: \n\nseizure\nheart attack\, including the administration of aspirin\nangina attack\nstroke\nasthma attack\nsevere allergic reaction\ndiabetic emergency.\n\nThe course also includes information on: \n\nassessing a casualty\nmonitoring a casualty\nwhere to get help\nelectrical incidents\naccident recording and reporting\nthe control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH)\n\nThe course runs from 9am until 4pm each day\, with a lunch break between the morning and afternoon sessions \nDelivered in a classroom setting\, this course offers a practical\, hands-on approach that delivers the skills and confidence to use first aid skills in a real life situation. For added reassurance\, each learner is assessed throughout the course using a range of practical demonstrations\, question and answer sessions\, quizzes and engaging activities designed to coach and support them \nOn successful completion of this course\, you will receive a first aid at work certificate which is valid for three years.  This course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 \nThis three day course is perfect for medium to large organisations\, high risk industries* and organisation which have staff with known medical conditions \n* The FACT 3-day First Aid at Work course is delivered by a qualified instructor with many years industry experience and we include anecdotal scenarios from high-risk industries with an added focus on construction  \nPlease note this course is split over 3 weeks\, 7th April\, 14th April and 21st April. \nPrice: £265 + VAT [£318 TOTAL] \n
